Miami mayor defends Beckham stadium plan

The mayor of Miami on Friday defended David Beckham's plans to build a state-of-the-art stadium on the city's waterfront, rejecting criticism of the project by a coalition of business groups. English superstar Beckham wants to build an eye-catching 25,000-seat stadium at the city's port for his as-yet-unnamed Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise. Beckham's proposed location for the stadium -- on a prime strip of real estate -- has drawn the ire of a grouping this week which urged the former …

Atletico Madrid took another step towards their first La Liga title for 18 years as two goals in the last 20 minutes handed them a 2-0 win over Elche at the Vicente Calderon on Friday. After a poor opening period from the hosts, they wasted a great chance to go in front 10 minutes after the break as David Villa's penalty was saved by Manu Herrera. The league leaders did eventually make the breakthrough 19 minutes from time when Miranda headed home Jose Sosa's cross and Diego Costa converted a …

Atletico close on title with win over stubborn Elche

By Iain Rogers MADRID (Reuters) - Atletico Madrid stayed firmly on course for a surprise La Liga title triumph when a Miranda header and Diego Costa's late penalty secured an unconvincing 2-0 win for the leaders at home to Elche on Friday. David Villa had a penalty saved shortly after halftime at a raucous Calderon stadium, packed with fans enjoying their team's best season in nearly 20 years, and nerves were jangling when centre back Miranda rose at the back post to nod a Jose Sosa corner …

KUALA LUMPUR, 28 Mac (Bernama) -- Nama seperti Amanda Natasha Nur Rania

Muhammad Haikal Shafiq al-Amin.

40''an-50''an dulu ketika ibu bapa memilih nama-nama yang agak luar biasa seperti

Pungut, Bongek, Patah, Punat, Gondol, Tumpang, Sabtu, Ahad, Isnin dsbnya.

Pegawai Perhubungan Awam Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara (JPN) Jainisah Mohd Noor

-- LAGI

NAMA-TREND 2 (AKHIR) KUALA LUMPUR

Liverpool fans need to stay calm for run-in, says Suarez

(Reuters) - Luis Suarez has told Liverpool fans to stay calm as the Premier League club attempts to overcome the pressure of the title run-in and clinch their first championship in 24 years. The Uruguayan striker, whose 29 league goals have underpinned Liverpool's challenge, admitted he cannot bring himself to follow the climax to the season through the media. "Winning the title would be very special but we can't think about that yet." Suarez paid tribute to Brendan Rogers, who will be favourite to take the manager of the year title if Liverpool - currently two points clear of second-placed Chelsea - can win their remaining four matches, starting at Norwich City on Sunday. He believes in all of the squad and when you have that belief from your boss then it's easier to perform at your best." Suarez's strike partner, Daniel Sturridge, is available for the trip to Carrow Road but is far from certain to make the starting line-up.

Bale stunner claims Cup win for Real over Barca

Gareth Bale raced away to score a stunning late winner as Real Madrid made light of the absence of top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo to beat arch-rivals Barcelona 2-1 to win a riveting King's Cup final on Wednesday. Wales winger Bale, who joined Real for a world record fee in the close season, galloped down the left wing into the penalty area in the 85th minute at Valencia's Mestalla stadium and slipped the ball superbly between the legs of Barca goalkeeper Jose Manuel Pinto. Angel Di Maria had put Real ahead in the 11th minute in the 228th meeting between the two sides when he finished off a swift break with a low shot that Pinto could only palm into the net before Marc Bartra headed in from Xavi's corner in the 68th to make it 1-1.
