Falcao celebrates Man United move in Chinese restaurant

Radamel Falcao celebrated his season-long loan move to Manchester United by enjoying traditional Chinese food at local restaurant Wing's.

The Colombian spent some of his £280,000 (S$580,000) weekly wages on a meal with his lawyers and agent Jorge Mendes, who also manages Cristiano Ronaldo.

On the menu of the popular eatery was traditional dishes such as mixed seafood fried rice, prawn crackers and aromatic crispy duck.

It was Falcao’s way of celebrating after a long day of negotiations, which he admitted nearly didn’t go through.

"I’ve waited for this moment during a lot of the year. Now I am a player of Manchester United. It was a very long day. It was hard, difficult. We were waiting until the last minute but I didn’t lose my faith. Now I want to say thank you to God for this. I’m very happy,” he declared.

The restaurant is a favourite among footballers from City and United, including Falcao’s new teammate Wayne Rooney.

And it appears that Falcao will be visiting the restaurant a lot more frequently, after its owners personally welcomed the group and sat them down at a private area.

The forward completed his £6million (S$12.4million) loan deal from Monaco in the early hours of Tuesday morning after Old Trafford held off competition from Arsenal and rivals Manchester City for his signature.

He will wear the No.9 shirt at the club and has already promised fans a season of success.

After continuous controversy over his decision not to reveal the identity of his son’s biological mother, Cristiano Ronaldo has spoken up publicly about her identity.

In an interview in Portugal, the Real Madrid star, 29, said : “The nationality of his mother is Portuguese. Although my son was born in the United States, he is of Portuguese nationality.”

He also denied previous rumours that Ronaldo Junior’s mother was an American waitress whom he met while on a night out in Los Angeles.

"I want people to respect the privacy of my son and that is why I am not making the name of his mother public,” he said.

He later added that his son was like any other ordinary boy who is growing up.

“Cristianho goes to an American school and studies English, Spanish and Portuguese. He is a very happy child, who loves boxing, cars and football,” he said proudly.

He also admitted that he was not yet ready to settle down and marry his girlfriend of four years, Russian model Irina Shayk.

“I still feel young to make a commitment like marriage. I’m still not ready yet,” he said. “I get along well with Irina, but marriage is a very important step. I need time to think. Although, of course, someday I’d like to get married like any normal person in the world.”

Barcelona star Luis Suarez posted a candid photo of his family enjoying some quality time together in their home.

His wife Sofia Balbi and their two children, Benjamin and Delfina, posed happily with their football superstar father.

"Enjoying a nice lunch with my love," he wrote as a caption.

Suarez returned to his former Anfield training ground on Monday to collect his belongings and say goodbye to his Liverpool teammates.

No one, however, was more surprised than his former teammate and captain Steven Gerrard, who even received a Barcelona jersey as a cheeky gift from the Uruguayan.
