‘Referee’ gives out yellow cards to New Yorkers for poor social etiquette

Comedian and actor Yoni Lotan took a page from the World Cup handbook and decided to hand out yellow cards (and the occasional red card) to people committing any sort of "social faux pas" in New York City.

Dressed in yellow, the city's self-appointed ref handed out cards to people taking selfies in the wrong places, sneaking Instagram photos and blocking foot traffic.

He targeted tourists in sandals: "Do you know how dirty these streets are?"

He carded Mario: "You're not the real Mario, you know that. You can't lie to people."

He carded the subway: "I'm late for brunch because of you."

According to Lotan, even grabbing the wrong refreshing drink can be a violation: "Nobody drinks Jamba Juice."

If only etiquette-management was always so simple.

If it were socially acceptable to do so, what faux pas would you target, referee-style?
