Misbun Ramdan Mohmed Misbun
FORMER Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) men’s singles shuttler Misbun Ramdan Mohmed Misbun, won his second title of the year after defeating France’s Lucas Corvee in the final of the Forza Slovenia International Challenge today.
Currently training under his father and former BAM coach Misbun Sidek, Ramdan who is the top seed, needed only 25 minutes to send the seventh seed Corvee packing in straight games 21-11, 21-15.
Ramdan, who left the national governing body in January to join the Nusa Mahsuri Badminton Club, won his first title as a professional at the Portuguese International Challenge last month.
He came close to reaching the final of the Forza Denmark International Challenge last week, but was knocked out by eventual champion and top seed Viktor Axelsen of Denmark in the semifinal.
Before leaving the BAM, Ramdan clinched the men’s singles title at the Maybank National Circuit Grand Prix Finals, where he defeated current world No. 13 and national No. 3 Chong Wei Feng.
